Divorce Mediation

What is mediation and will it work for me?

Mediation is a process whereby the couple uses the services of one attorney generally called the mediator. The mediator helps guide the couple into forming and agreement that is special and unique to their individual case. The parties have control of the outcome rather than letting the court determine their future. The process is economical in that the services of one attorney are utilized. It is a fair, reasonable and affordable approach to divorce where the marital assets are not being depleted for legal fees and costs. It saves time in that the parties are not litigating their disputes in court. The mediator completes all of the court documents and generally attends court with the parties at their final divorce court date.
